David M. MacDonald, DVM, CVA

Dr. MacDonald has been an associate veterinarian at Mountain Shadow Veterinary Hospital since 2007. He is originally from Plaster Rock, NB in Canada and attended the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, receiving his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1999. After working for eight years in a mixed animal practice in Berks County, Pennsylvania, his current focus is entirely on companion animal care. He welcomes patients of all shapes and sizes including dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs and many others.

Dr. MacDonald seeks to provide truly integrative veterinary care to his patients, offering additional medical options that may not be available elsewhere. This interest led him to specialized training and certification in veterinary acupuncture through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). He is currently furthering his expertise in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), by undertaking specialized training and certification in Chinese Herbal Veterinary Medicine.

In the remaining hours of his day, Dr. MacDonald happily shares his home with his wife, two children, two dogs and two cats.
